Abstract

An enediyne unit in a bicyclo[8.3.0] framework with a trans ring fusion has been designed, synthesized, and evaluated as a new functional model for the enediyne toxins. The cycloaromatization reaction proceeds with a half-life time of 13-14 hr at 25°C.
