Abstract
The essay examines cases of Daniil Kharms' “superstitions,” both in his diary entries and in his prosе of the mid-1930s. In the refraction of his beliefs and signs, these cases become for Kharms creative material, in particular in the work he composed on 18 February 1936, “The Argument of Golden Hearts About Bechamel that I Overheard.”.
