Борис Бухштаб как явление теории

In this article, I take as my object of inquiry two later works by the young formalist, philologist and bibliographer Boris Bukhstab, “Bibliograficheskie razyskaniya po russkoy literature XIX veka” (1966) and “Bibliograficheskie rassledovaniya” (1982). I show the link between these publications and the theoretical discussions on bibliography from the 1960s, and I conclude that through the “Razyskaniya” and “Rassledovaniya” Bukhshtab explores the possibilities of academic genres and proposes a specific understanding of literary scholarship and of the literary scholar.
